Erasmus+ Incoming Students
Welcome to the Conservatorio Statale di Musica “Vincenzo Bellini” di Catania.
The Conservatory is one of the leading Higher Music Education Institutions in Southern Italy and forms part of the European network of conservatoires and music academies. Situated in the vibrant city of Catania, at the foot of Mount Etna and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the Conservatory offers international students the opportunity to combine high-level musical studies with a unique cultural experience in Sicily.
Every year we welcome Erasmus+ students from partner institutions across Europe, encouraging artistic exchange, intercultural dialogue and academic cooperation.
Study Opportunities
Incoming Erasmus+ students may enrol in courses offered at the following levels:
- Bachelor Programmes (First Cycle) EQF Level 6
- Master Programmes (Second Cycle) EQF Level 7
Students may attend individual instrumental and vocal lessons, chamber music, orchestral and ensemble activities, theoretical and musicological subjects, seminars, workshops and artistic productions, subject to the approval of the relevant departments and the Learning Agreement.

Mobility Opportunities
The Conservatorio Statale di Musica “Vincenzo Bellini” di Catania welcomes international students under the Erasmus+ Programme and accepts applications for:
- Long-term study mobilities (physical mobility for one semester or a full academic year);
- Short-term blended mobilities, in accordance with the Erasmus+ Programme regulations;
- Erasmus+ traineeships (internships), subject to the availability of suitable activities and prior agreement between the sending institution and the Conservatory.
Students interested in any of these mobility formats are encouraged to contact the Erasmus+ Office for further information regarding eligibility, application procedures, and available opportunities.
Nomination and Application Procedure
Students wishing to undertake an Erasmus+ study mobility at the Conservatory must be nominated by their home institution.

Students are advised to consider these dates carefully when planning their mobility period.
Learning Agreement
Before arrival, all students must complete the Online Learning Agreement (OLA) in cooperation with their home institution and the Erasmus+ Office of the Conservatory.
Any subsequent modifications to the study programme must be approved by all parties involved and formalised according to Erasmus+ regulations.
Language Requirements
The language of instruction is primarily Italian. Therefore, incoming students are strongly encouraged to acquire at least a basic knowledge of Italian in order to facilitate academic participation and daily life.
Whenever possible, academic staff will provide support in English.

Erasmus+ Incoming Staff and Teaching Mobility
The Conservatory warmly welcomes professors, researchers, administrative staff, and technical personnel from partner institutions who wish to undertake a mobility period within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme.
International staff mobility represents a valuable opportunity to exchange expertise, share best practices, strengthen institutional cooperation, and foster the internationalisation of higher music education.
Mobility Opportunities
The Conservatorio Statale di Musica “Vincenzo Bellini” of Catania welcomes applications for:
Teaching Mobility (STA)
Teaching staff from partner institutions may carry out teaching activities at the Conservatory within the framework of Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching Assignments.
Mobility activities may include:
- Individual and group teaching;
- Masterclasses and workshops;
- Seminars and lectures;
- Artistic and research-related activities;
- Participation in joint educational projects.
Staff Mobility for Training (STT)
Administrative, technical, and academic staff are invited to participate in Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training.
Training activities may include:
- Job shadowing;
- Exchange of best practices;
- Professional development activities;
- International Weeks;
- Workshops and training sessions;
- Meetings aimed at strengthening inter-institutional cooperation.
Application Procedure
Incoming staff members should contact the Erasmus+ Office well in advance of the planned mobility period.
Applications should include:
- A mobility proposal outlining the objectives and activities of the visit;
- The Mobility Agreement approved by the sending institution;
- A proposed period of mobility;
- Any additional documentation required by the Erasmus+ Office.
All mobilities are subject to approval by Erasmus Office and must be compatible with the institutional calendar and organisational capacity.

Teaching and training mobilities may be organised throughout the academic year, subject to mutual agreement between the sending institution and the Conservatory.

Academic and Artistic Environment
The Conservatory offers a stimulating environment for international cooperation in the fields of music performance, composition, music education, musicology, artistic research, and cultural management.
Incoming teaching staff may collaborate with professors and students through lectures, masterclasses, workshops, concerts, and other artistic initiatives, while administrative and technical staff may engage in professional exchanges with colleagues working in international relations, academic administration, student services, quality assurance, communication, and related areas.
Facilities and Support
The Erasmus+ Office provides assistance before and during the mobility period and supports visiting staff members in organising their activities at the Conservatory.
